Desiree Anderson-President

Desiree Anderson serves as President of Association Consultants. Desiree is educated, licensed, and certified by the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and has obtained both the AMS (Association Management Specialist) as well as the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations).

Additionally, Desiree holds the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation, the highest available through CAI. Desiree joins the elite group of approximately 2,200 managers worldwide who have earned the highest level of professional recognition in the community association field. She is only one of two to achieve this highly coveted designation in northeastern North Carolina.

To earn the PCAM credential, managers must have at least five years of community association management experience and complete more than 100 hours of course work in communications, association law, financial management, governance, risk management, asset protection, facility management, and so much more. In addition, credentialed PCAMs must fulfill continuingeducation and service requirements, as well as adhere to a code of ethics. Through her involvement with CAI and in meeting the requirements to maintain her credentials, you can be assured that Desiree’s commitment to excellence will never waver.

Desiree graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Management with a focus on Accounting and Finance.

Desiree has been in the association management industry since 1996 where she started with a small management firm in Virginia. Desiree is unique amongst her fellow managers in the industry. She began her association management career as an administrative-level staff learning all administrative aspects of association management first. Desiree then progressed to the accounting arena where she obtained complete accounting and financial statement preparation responsibilities. As she advanced through her career, she was quickly promoted to management level roles which qualified her to receive these professional designations from CAI. The valuable knowledge and experience Desiree gained by successfully serving in all aspects of Association management, administration, and bookkeeping, led her to where she is today, an executive capable of starting and operating her own quality management firm.

After much deliberation and research Desiree, along with her family, moved to the Outer Banks in 2016 and opened Association Consultants. Since then, she has grown the business with a focus on quality over quantity with a sincere desire to focus on the“client experience”. Desiree’s love for numbers coupled with the education she has received and her desire to provide top-notch customer service makes Association Consultants an extraordinary company to partner with.

Through Desiree’s leadership and a strong team supporting the foundation and mission of Association Consultants, two additional departments have been opened. Seeing a need for administrative services and small business bookkeeping, which often come hand in hand, Association Consultants opened these new departments in 2017. Desiree has since grown the departments which now serve a multitude of diverse clients across the United States.

When Desiree is not hard at work for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 young adult children, going to the beach, watching her husband fish while she relaxes on the boat, and traveling. At the end of the day, you can usually find her relaxing with a cocktail and a good book.
